‘I was 100% prepared not to like this,’ says Trader Joe’s fan who ‘devoured’ viral new dessert – shoppers must act fast
The retailer's viral desserts commonly divide fans with some often having the same complaint
A PINT-SIZED treat has already become a new summer favorite with fans going wild at the taste and price tag.
Ice cream lovers are rushing to their nearest Trader Joe's stores to find the new flavor that sees them buy in bulk and devour their stash in minutes.

For less than $4, customers are keen to get their hands on the retailer's Banana Pudding Flavored Ice Cream.
The ice cream is made with banana puree with swirls of salted caramel.
It also has pieces of vanilla-flavored wafer cookies distributed throughout the pint-sized delight to give potluck dessert tables a run for their money, according to Trader Joe's.
The retailer advises those who want to indulge to "treat it like a deconstructed, reconstructed banana split" by adding whipped cream, chopped nuts, and dark chocolate-covered cherries.

Though it is sold as an "excellent anytime treat," shoppers must be quick if they want to get their hands on the banana dessert.
The $3.79 ice cream is only available for a limited time as it is the latest addition to Trader Joe's "seasonal ice cream pints," according to an Instagram post by the retailer.
"I bought a pint there were only 4 left. I should have bought 2 at least," one shopper said in the comments.
"Could eat in a sitting. I really don't like banana anything! This was sooo very delicious."

Meanwhile, others called on the retailer to "make it permanent" on the same day the ice cream was announced.
However, some banana dessert connoisseurs have noted on Reddit that another pudding rivals the viral ice cream.
"The blue bell banana pudding ice cream is where it’s at," one person said in a Trader Joe's Reddit thread.
"This tasted way too artificial to me."
Others agreed saying, "As someone who grew up eating homemade banana pudding very frequently every summer, the TJ's banana pudding ice cream reminded me more of an artificially flavored banana pudding packet rather than the real deal."

Piquant Popcorn
First spotted in stores last month, Trader Joe's snack aisle recently received an exciting new addition, Eat This, Not That! reported.
The Piquant Popcorn (140 calories) is seasoned with a flavorful mix of onion powder, garlic powder, sea salt, and a nutritional yeast, which has a rich and slightly cheesy taste. Sloan described it as having an "umami richness of flavor."
Cinnamon Danish Twist Pastry
Trader Joe's shoppers will have yet another pastry to choose from when the retailer debuts its new Cinnamon Twist Danish later this month. The baked good features a Danish pastry with cinnamon and a custard-style filling. And according to the podcasters, it's absolutely massive. Amy said it was almost like a "super-sized cinnamon bun."
The item will only be available for a limited time, but Amy said it should still be in stores around Easter and Mother's Day.
Thai Peanut Satay Sauce
Trader Joe's is offering its shoppers a taste of Thailand with a new Thai Peanut Satay Sauce (80 calories) sourced from a supplier in the Asian country. The sauce is made from coconut milk, peanuts, red curry paste, and a variety of savory seasonings, making it an ideal pairing for grilled proteins.
Miller said that Trader Joe's has offered peanut sauces in the past, but believes this new iteration is" better than any" versions they've offered before. The item is already available in stores now.
Brown Sugar Boba Mochi
Mochi fans, rejoice! Brand-new Brown Sugar Boba Mochi are coming to a Trader Joe's store near you right now. Miller said the treats feature a squishy rice dough surrounding a small boba pearl. They're also individually wrapped to ensure they don't stick together.
Dulce de Leche Ice Cream
Trader Joe's stores tend to have limited freezer space, so the retailer is always rotating its ice cream selection to introduce exciting new flavors. The newest iteration is a Dulce de Leche Ice Cream, featuring a caramel-flavored base with a swirl of dulce de leche. The limited-time item should hit freezer shelves in late March.
One said it will be on their "do not buy" list as a result of the flavor though fans of "banana-flavored candy/treats (i.e., Laffy Taffy, circus peanuts, banana-flavored pudding, etc.)" are said to "probably like" it.
It's not the first time Trader Joe's desserts have been slammed for having an "artificial" taste while other fans rave about them.
In the comments on a TikTok video, a reviewer called the retailer's Sprinkle sandwich cookies "dry and too sweet artificial taste."
Similar comments have been made about the lemon sheet cake though others gave it a positive review.
Meanwhile, those who prefer savory snacks to sweet desserts are raving about "the food fusion we need" thanks to another Trader Joe's concoction.
