Starting June 5th, Pennsylvania drivers will need to put their phone down or face penalties.

A new distracted driving law, known as Paul Miller’s law, will make it a primary offense to use a handheld device while driving.

That means police can pull you over just for having your phone in your hand.

For the first year, violators will get a written warning, but starting in June 2026, fines will be issued.

There are exceptions, including emergency use, and drivers may still use hands-free options.
