President Donald Trump called on his administration this week to save a coal-fired power plant in Arizona.

But there’s a problem: The plant was shut down last month because it was too expensive to run.

Trump, flanked by coal miners, directed Energy Secretary Chris Wright at a White House event Tuesday to save the Cholla Power Plant, which he said is “slated for destruction” and vowed to support the miners who dig up thermal coal for its boilers.

“We’re going to keep those coal miners on the job, going to tell them to just remain calm because we’re going to have that plant opening and burning the clean coal, beautiful clean coal in a very short period of time,” Trump said.
